Changing lives begins here

The Second Chance Project

We are a non-profit organization. We formed and came together because of the growing number of homless familys and individuals in our community. For the men and women who are in need to get help even if it is help to get cleaned up, to get a job, to be warm and safe, to receive state benefits or SSI, medical benefits do to them not having a permanent address to get the help, to be able to put an address down on paper or resume to get a job. Or the families, and people in our community who are having a hard time supporting their families or themselves and just simply need food, clothes on their backs, or just someone to talk to.

A special Thank-you to the LA County Chicano Employees Assoication for your donation...

We currently have 2 food distribution locations, where we distribute food to over 900 families monthly throughout the High Desert. Our goal is to open up a homeless shelter but that is going to take a little bit of time with permits, the building, operational costs etc. However, there are so many ways that you can partner with us to help us with our shelter, feeding the homeless, and families that we serve. We have a variety of fundraisers every month to help us but sometimes that's not enough. Please think about donating to our organization.

Until we have our facilities up and operating we will be running most of our operations out of our storage facility. We are currently looking for a food pantry/soup kitchen as well as a full shelter featuring: Food pantry, Clothing, Soup kitchen, Food pantry, Clothing, a computer room (To apply for aid, benefits, apply for jobs.) we will offer aid related assistance, as well as child care.

Our mission here at High Desert Second Chance is to not only inspire others to better their lives, but to help them do so by providing a healthy, clean, and positive environment to those in need.
